Big bumper models featured the distinctive rainbow seat cloth, and often come with many optional extras fitted such as tinted glass and electric windows.
Introduced in 1986, the 16V saw an increase in power to 139bhp. Mechanically similar to the 8V, although with different gear ratios, and an increase to 256mm front disks on later models.

Identifiable by a roof mounted 'bee sting' aerial, tinted rear lights, subtle badging and a slightly larger exhaust pipe than the 8V. Wheels were either the 14" Montreal wheel on early models or 15" BBS RAs fitted as standard to later models.
